Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation process of local broadcasting in Pekalongan City amidst the growing wave of digitalization. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, the research explores the adaptive strategies undertaken by local broadcasting institutions, the structural challenges they face, and audience responses to the shift from conventional to digital media. The findings reveal significant changes in the form of media convergence, utilization of online platforms, and efforts to strengthen content based on local wisdom. Despite limitations in human resources, technological infrastructure, and the absence of stable digital business models, local broadcasters demonstrate innovative resilience to survive and evolve. Furthermore, the role of local government, creative communities, and adaptive regulations emerges as a crucial factor in ensuring the sustainability of this transformation. This study offers valuable insights for media practitioners, policymakers, and academics in formulating strategies to strengthen local broadcasting in the digital era.
